Our Story
Diamond and Daisy Project is a non-profit 501c3 that works directly with shelters and rescues throughout Arizona to provide funding for medical care and treatment to ill, abandoned, neglected and abused animals.
Through multiple projects we are bringing awareness and facilitating solutions to the nationwide crisis of canine overpopulation, and the dire need for adopters and fosters who can provide safe loving homes.
DIAMOND AND DAISY PROJECT is dedicated to giving every dog a second chance at life. We believe in the transformative power of love and care, and we strive to spotlight the importance of adopting and rescuing over buying. Every dog deserves a loving home, and together we can make that dream a reality.

Miss Candice
FOUNDER
Miss Candice is a Midwestern native whose heart for animals has guided her for more than a decade of volunteering at shelters across the United States. During that time, she witnessed the crisis of compassion firsthand—countless dogs of every breed, temperament, and age being euthanized simply because there weren’t enough homes. She was shocked to learn how few people understood the scale of the problem and how many perfectly adoptable dogs never got their chance. In 2020, determined to make a greater impact, Miss Candice turned her vision into action and founded what would become the Diamond and Daisy Project. Her passion for rescue work not only saves lives but also inspires others to see the immeasurable joy a dog can bring to a home and a heart. Through her story, she reminds us that the most powerful way to change the future for shelter dogs is simple: be the change and adopt.

Miss Diamond
FOUNDER
Miss Diamond’s journey began in 2016 when, at just five years old, she was abandoned at a no-kill shelter outside of Chicago by the only family she had ever known. Heartbroken and confused, she spent six long months crying in her kennel—until the day Miss Candice walked in. It was love at first sight, and from that moment on, the two became inseparable.
Now 14 years old, Diamond is living her best life by her mama’s side. She adores car rides, sunbathing, and frozen blueberry treats, but her greatest joy will always be snuggling close with the person who gave her a second chance at forever.

Miss Daisy
FOUNDER
Miss Daisy’s life was marked with heartbreak—surrendered to the Maricopa County Shelter multiple times by different owners over nine long years. Neglect had left her body frail and in need of extensive medical care, while repeated abandonment left her spirit broken. Her age, declining health, and history of surrenders ultimately placed her on the euthanasia list. When Miss Candice learned of Daisy’s fate, she knew she had to act. The very next morning, she rushed to the shelter—only to discover Daisy had already been taken to the euthanasia room. With minutes to spare, Daisy’s life was fought for and spared. That morning, she walked out of the shelter with Miss Candice, finally safe and finally loved.
Today, at 12.5 years old, Daisy is thriving. She delights in chasing balls, jumping through sprinklers, sunbathing, and soaking up every ounce of affection she can get. Despite all the ways humans failed her, Daisy’s heart radiates love, loyalty, and gratitude. Brilliant and resilient, she knows exactly what she was saved from—and she is now living her very best life.
